Burma: A Major Breakthrough


After decades of military rule, Burma is at a decisive inflection point.  Aung San Suu Kyi, an inspiration to all in the human rights movement, is poised to rejoin the political system. A “flicker of progress” said U.S. President Obama. But he also realistically highlighted ongoing human rights issues. Hope is balanced with caution.
